City Manager

The City Manager is the Chief Administrative and Executive Officer of the City.  The City Manager is appointed by and reports to the City Council.  The City Manager serves as the bridge between the Council and staff and is responsible for implementing the policies established by the Council.  The City Manager is also responsible for developing and administering the budget and various strategic plans.  In general, the City Manager is responsible for supervising city employees and has the final responsibility for all hiring, discipline and termination matters.

The current City Manager is Mike Brice.  Mike was appointed City Manager in August of 2007.  He previously served as the Assistant City Manager in Chickasha, Oklahoma.  Mike began his public service career as a police dispatcher in Oklahoma City in 1981.  In 1983 he was hired as a firefighter by the City of Nichols Hills.  During his tenure at Nichols Hills Mike progressed through the ranks until being promoted to Assistant Fire Chief.  In January 2000 Mike was hired as the Fire Chief in Chickasha, Oklahoma.  He was later promoted to Assistant City Manager.  Mike holds a Master’s degree in liberal studies focusing on leadership and administration from the University of Oklahoma.

Mike is a current member of the International City Managers Association and the Texas City Managers Association.  He also serves on the Sanger Area Chamber of Commerce Board and is a member of the local Lions club.
