Purpose and Mission Statement

The Purpose of the Sanger Volunteer Fire Department is to protect the citizens and their property from destruction by fire. To provide fire suppression services, emergency medical services, and fire prevention service (which include public education, fire investigation, and business inspections). To show pride, honor, and integrity in ourselves, department and community.
 

The Sanger Volunteer Fire Department covers a 130 square mile Fire/EMS District in North Denton County. The SVFD responded to 1247 emergency calls in 2006, of which 731 were medical emergencies, 176 fire calls, 158 service calls, 43 hazardous condition calls, 36 false alarms, 94 good intent calls, and 8 weather related/miscellaneous calls. 5 ISO rating.

The SVFD is made up of 23 Volunteers, 2 paid members, and 1 reserve members. We currently have 2 Engines, 1Tanker/Pumper, 1 Tanker, 3 Brush Trucks, 1 Rescue, 1 Command unit and 2 BLS Ambulances with MICU capabilities.
