Garage Sales

A Garage Sale Permit is required and can be obtained from the Police Department at 301 Bolivar Street during normal business hours.  There is no fee for a Garage Sale Permit.

Garage Sale Rules:

*Sale permit must be obtained prior to the sale. 

*Sale permit must be visibly displayed at the sale site.

*One (1) sale may be permitted in a calendar month.

*The sale may not exceed three (3) consecutive calendar days.

*Signs for the sale must be placed only on private property.

*Signs must be taken down within three (3) days of the final sale date.

*Signs may not be placed in the right-of-way of any street or alley.

*Signs shall not be placed on utility poles or city sign posts.

*One (1) sign not to exceed three (3) square feet.

*No new merchandise (purchased solely for the purpose of resale) shall be permitted.

*Citations may be issued to those who do not comply with the rules and regulations of an Occasional/Garage Sale Permit as stated.
