Pet Registration

Register your pets at the Sanger Police Department.

Provide Identification

Animal Control is concerned about the animals being picked up. Often, they have no identification tag, collar, or microchip. We encourage you to provide and keep current identification for your animal.

Vaccinate Your Pet

City of Sanger Municipal Article 2.200 requires all animals capable of transmitting rabies to be vaccinated at four months of age and annually thereafter. Get your pets vaccinated at any Sanger area veterinarian clinic or another licensed provider.

Register Your Pet

Registering your pets with the Sanger Police Department is both a legal requirement and a valuable step in ensuring their safety. According to the City of Sanger Code of Ordinances Chapter 2, Animal Control requires that all dogs and cats aged four months or older must be registered with the City. This registration not only complies with the law but also aids in quickly locating your pet if it gets lost. When someone finds your pet, they can easily contact our office using the registration information on your pet's tag.

To register your pet, you need to provide proof of a current rabies vaccination. The registration fee is $5, and it is valid for one year and requires annual renewal.

Please complete either the Single Pet Registration or Multiple Pet Registration Form.  Print the form and bring it, proof of current rabies vaccination, and the $5 registration fee (per pet) to the Sanger Police Department.
