Boards & Commissions
Most boards have members serving staggered two-year terms. Terms start July 1st of every year.
Appointments are occasionally made mid-year to fill an open position. Applications are always accepted. Questions about serving on a board can be directed to the Office of the City Secretary.

Qualifications
Members of all boards and commissions must be:
- Residents of the City of Sanger for at least six months preceding the date of appointment.
- Qualified voter
- Not be an officer of the City nor any person who holds a compensated position with the City.
Note: 4A and 4B Board residency requirements and terms are specific to each board and are noted on the following pages.
Attendance at meetings is a requirement. Any member missing three consecutive meetings without prior notification shall be replaced by the City Council.
Members may serve up to three consecutive two-year terms. When the term limit is reached, a member can be appointed to another board immediately and may apply for appointment on the same board after a one-year absence.

4A Economic Development Board
The 4A board is empowered to expend funds for expanding existing businesses or attracting new businesses that will create primary jobs within the community.

4B Economic Development Board
4B Boards are authorized to expend funds not only for economic development projects but also on specific projects that improve the quality of life.

Board of Adjustment
The Zoning Board of Adjustment meets to review applications for variances from the strict terms of the City of Sanger Zoning Ordinance to relive unnecessary hardships.

Library Board
The board serves as a consulting and advisory body to study and recommend policies relating to the operation, promotion, enlargement and future planning of the Sanger Public Library.

Park & Recreation / Keep Sanger Beautiful Board
The board serves as a consulting, advisory and supervisory body to study and recommend policies relating to the operation, promotion, enlargement, future planning and such other matters involving city parks as may be referred to it by the City Council.

Planning & Zoning Commission
The Planning and Zoning Commission is responsible for the administration of the City of Sanger Zoning Ordinance.
